Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Overview
Dugout Watch ("the Service") is operated by Golden Road Ventures LLC, doing business as Dugout Watch ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. It applies to our website (dugoutwatch.com) and our iOS and Android apps.
We believe in keeping things simple: we collect the minimum amount of data needed to make the Service work, and we don't sell your information to anyone.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Email address: Required to create your account and sign in. We use a passwordless authentication system that sends a one-time verification code to your email each time you sign in.
- Player and team preferences: The players you add to your watchlist and the teams you follow. This is stored to personalize your experience.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: We use analytics tools to understand how the Service is used — including pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns. This is tied to an anonymous or account-linked identifier, not directly to your name or email.
- Device and browser information: Standard technical information such as browser type, device type, and operating system, collected through analytics tools to help us improve the Service.
- Last active time: We record the last time you used the Service so we can keep your experience up to date.
- Push notification device token (mobile app only, opt-in): If you enable notifications, we store a device token so we can deliver updates to your device through your platform's push notification service. This is only collected if you turn notifications on, and is deleted if you turn them off.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Passwords (we use passwordless authentication)
- Payment or financial information (the Service is currently free)
- Location data
- Contacts or address book information
- Social media profiles
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate your identity and provide access to your account
- Save and display your player watchlist and team preferences
- Send you one-time sign-in codes via email
- Send you push notifications about players and teams you follow, if you've opted in
- Improve and maintain the Service
- Communicate with you about the Service if necessary
How We Store Your Information
Your data is stored and processed by reputable third-party service providers that maintain industry-standard security practices. Your account data is stored on servers located in the United States.
Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your information only with service providers who help us operate the Service, for purposes such as:
- Database hosting and user authentication
- Website hosting and security
- Email delivery for sign-in codes
- Delivering push notifications, if you've enabled them
- Usage analytics to help us understand and improve the Service
We may also disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or government request.
Push Notifications
Push notifications are entirely opt-in. If you enable them in the app's Settings, we deliver notifications about players and teams you follow using your device's push token. You can turn notifications off at any time from the app's Settings or your device's system settings — doing so removes your stored device token.
Data Retention
You can permanently delete your account at any time directly within the app (Settings → Delete Account). This is immediate: your account and all associated data (watchlist, followed teams, settings, and device token) are deleted as soon as you confirm, except where we're required by law to retain certain records. If you instead contact us to request deletion, we'll complete it within 5 business days.
Your Rights
You may:
- Access your data: Contact us to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Delete your account: Use the "Delete Account" option in the app's Settings for immediate, self-service deletion, or contact us to request it on your behalf.
- Update your email: Contact us if you need to change the email address associated with your account.
For California Residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information.
For European Residents
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and the right to object to or restrict processing. Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (by creating an account) and our legitimate interest in operating the Service.
Children's Privacy
Dugout Watch is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
